Greetings!
I’m choosing to start here, well, because I can!
First things first.. I want to thank my WebGuru Erin. It is ONLY because of her encouragement that this is coming together. She’s patient, clever and a wonderful person. She’s helping me learn how to get things posted.
I LOVE YOU ERIN!!
Now, on to the “about”..
Duane and Trudie have been married for about 34 years. At one time he was a “suit” in a pharmaceutical/medical supply company. As things happen, one company bought some other company who ended up buying the one he was at and decided to eliminate all the *extra* jobs. You just know his was one of those *extra* jobs.
At the time we had a small shop, kind of a card/gift thing going. Most people who visited said we looked like a place that should be in San Francisco because we were a bit more imaginative than much of what was around our area. We’d not been to San Francisco at the time.. but when we did make it there, we knew what they meant! So, we ended up focusing on our retail store instead of him going back to corporate America. We’ve had 25+ years in our small business together.
We’ve always let our customers drive the products we present. We’ve been through dance, fantasy, kaleidoscopes, educational toys, stickers etc, etc, etc. We’ve had several incarnations and different physical locations. We’ve done Renaissance faires and SciFi conventions. We’ve made many dearest friends in both groups.
We are picky about what we provide. We chose some of the educational toys because they were ones we would have liked to have for our daughter when she was growing up.
But, things being what they were, our folks requested a different product mix that took us away from them.
Now, because of this marvelous adventure, We’re able to start the hunt for them again! It’s a challenge, and we feel ecstatic when we find something we think worthy of sharing with folks.
Trudie needs some mentally stimulating creative outlets to keep her busy, so the beaded jewelry is what’s working at this time. She also does fused glass. Some of those fun things will be finding their way here too.
Also, because we enjoy the magical world of fantasy, we will continue to seek quality faerie products.
We are Disneyland annual passholders, so you know we have to enjoy the Magic Kingdom.. which lead to our “princess” category. While not all of the treats there are Disney, many are.
Our daughter and granddaughter live near by and we enjoy seeing them quite often. Our siblings (who are all over the place!) are important to us too. We see them as often as possible too. Our holidays are spent with Dad, sisters, brothers-in-law, brother, sister-in-law, nieces, nephews, great nieces.. well you get the picture. Family is very important to us.
I’m considering posting personal pics and events in this part. The next one is our 34th anniversary, coming on Valentine’s day!
